BROKEN TREES
Having suffered through millennia
Of fires
Disease
And the brutality of chain saws,
Many of our Brother and Sister Trees
Have fallen victim to
The cruel and furious breath of the Wind.
Arms broken and strewn about
They lie silently and lifeless,
Offering themselves once more
As sacrifices to Man
In his quest for Shelter and Warmth.
We owe them a debt of
Unending gratitude
