The other day, I got the feeling that someone needed to hear this. Wouldn't let up until I wrote. So, to whomever...this is for you.

Breathe

Hey you!

Look UP!

Hi there!

Wow! It's really beautiful up here today.

Why don't you come up and join me, so you can see for yourself.

Great! I'll lower the ladder. Mind your footing!

Here, take my hand. I'll help you up. There you go.

What do you mean you didn't know this was here? It's ALWAYS been here. For as long as I can remember anyway. I can't believe you didn't notice it before.

Oh no, the pillows weren't always here. I brought my own. To make it more comfortable sitting on the floor.

Nope. No phone. No TV. No radio. Nothing but the beauty and quiet around me. No distractions.

Yeah, I can sit here for hours. I come here when I can't cope with the Real World. Which seems to be more and more lately. I've heard enough bad news to last me a lifetime. Seems like the only kind of news that makes it to the newspaper or television these days. Yak yak yak..blah blah blah. Terrorists. War. Plane crashes. Murders. Diseases. Politicians.

They're the worst, I think. Not worth the powder to.....  Well, you know. Yep. Don't even get me started on THAT topic! hahahah  It's just non-stop! That's when I find myself screaming: ENOUGH!!!!!

You feel that way sometimes, too? Yeah. Then you know what I mean.

That's when I come here. Quiet. Beautiful. Even when it's raining. Lots of times I'll just curl up and spend the night looking out at the stars.

Noooo. I don't know astronomy or astrology. At least no more than the average person who knows the signs of the Zodiac; stuff like that. But I have picked out a few constellations I always look for. I've gotten kind of attached to Orion for some reason. I always look for him in the night sky. Feels comforting somehow. Like he's watching over me.

Look! You can see over everything. It's sooo quiet. Like the place below you doesn't exist. Can't reach you up here with its tentacles and pull you down.

Sure, make yourself comfortable. Here, take one of my pillows. There, that's better, huh?

Today? Well, my day started OUT a disaster.  Alarm didn't go off. No milk for breakfast. Car wouldn't start. You know the kind of day I mean?

Yeah, THAT kind of day. You got it! Shoulda gone back to bed! hahaha

Naw. I just kept going. That's about all a person CAN do, isn't it.

Did you see that??  Wow! An eagle. A big one, too! They're so majestic.

What made me call out to you? Well, I've gotten pretty good about sensing when a person has about reached their limit. Ready to pull their hair out. Scream at the top of their lungs. I can tell by the way they walk.

Yep. The way they walk. Head down. Lots of heavy sighs. That's the way YOU were walking.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to spot, once you know what it is you're seeing. I catch myself doing that every so often. That's when I come here.

Look! There's a flock of Canadian geese!  I love hearing their honking! Get out of the way! Get out of the way! We're on a mission! hahaha

The Sun is starting to go down. This is the best part of the day. Just slowly sinking to the other side of the World. I love the colors; purple, orange, yellow. And it's even prettier when there are a few clouds for the colors to shine through.

And then...out come the stars! And if we're lucky, the Moon will grace the sky with its presence. The Sun and the Moon always just miss each other. But then... an Eclipse! When they finally meet and renew their vow of Eternal Love. Embracing for just a little while. Then slowly parting until the next reunion.

This is where I regain my sanity. Shake off the negative energy that follows me around sometimes. Get my perspective back. Just toss everything else out the window so the wind can carry it away.

Sometimes I feel so lost. Anchorless. Just drifting. Going where the current takes me instead of steering my boat. This is my harbor at those times.

Here. Get comfortable. Now lean back. Like that. Close your eyes and clear your mind, then take in the magic around us. Listen to the stillness.

Just breathe. Deeper. Inhale. Ex-x-x-x-hale. Again.

I know! I know! It IS relaxing and easy to lose yourself up here. After a while, you don't even want to go back down the ladder.

You should find your OWN Happy Place.  Everyone needs a place to go whenever they feel the need to regroup. Replenish. Recharge.

Just....be. In fact, people should make it part of their daily routine. We know how to exhale, but sometimes we forget to BREATHE.

You're quite welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Come visit again sometime.

Okay, then. Let me lower the ladder. No, I'm not ready to leave quite yet.

Careful now! There you go.

Goodbye!

Remember to breathe!
