I
've been sitting here so long,
Waiting for you to join me.
It’s alright if you sit at the other end of my bench.
Little by little, I’ll move closer.

And before you know it,
I’ll be right beside you.

We’ll watch the tide come in together.
And we’ll watch as it goes out again.
Taking the day with it.

We’ll marvel at the sunsets
Sighing in unison at the beauty of
The nighttime sky.

We may move apart a little sometimes.
Just to give stretching room.
But we’ll eventually inch our way
Back together again.

We’ll get old, you and I.
We’ll wonder where the years went.
And then one of us will be gone.

And the bench will be empty once again.
