We’ve missed you so very much.
Feared for your safety each and every day.
We know you will never be the same
As you were before you went away.
And we mourn that loss
Along with the loss of life, limb
And peace of mind that you may
Never know again.
Whether or not you return to
Parades and celebrations,
Know that we honor your sacrifices.
Until every one of you returns,
We will continue to keep our vigil
To keep you safe from harm.
And when we fail, we will cry.
