A Day in a Life
(five words: morning, grind, joy, Seattle, ring)
It’s morning.
Time for the daily grind.
I hurry,
But I’m already behind.
Headed for Seattle.
Can’t contain my joy.
The freeway is a parking lot.
Oh boy. Oh boy. Oh boy.
Finally sitting at my desk.
The phone begins to ring.
“Hello? My printer’s broken.
Can you fix the doggone thing?”
All day long, it never stops
Until the clock strikes five.
Then back out on the freeway
Like bees leaving a hive.
Finally, I get home.
Slap meatloaf on some bread.
Watch a little TV.
Then tumble into bed.
It’s morning.
Time for the daily grind.
